Hello,
Here is another one of my collection which I cannot identify so I'm looking for some help pls. This piece is approx. 6" high and quite light for the size. There is also a slight lustre to the glass. I really can't make out the signature....'Quisotus s---- 78 2-17'
thank you as always,
Vx

Signature position indicates it is most likely from the USA. The iridescent pulled feather effect was also very common at that time.

Do you think it might be possible to photograph the signature more clearly and in larger format as it just blurs when trying to enlarge the pic.
thanks :)

Thank you Both,
Yes - American could be right (overall impression) although I bought it in a job lot of 3 British studio glass pieces!
I've tried adding the photo again with a bit of tweaking, fingers crossed this improves it...
Many thanks,

Pretty sure the second word is "STUDIO"
Looks something like ??? QUIZDOOS STUDIOS 78 2417 ???
....But just guessing at it
-
Thank you - that's further than I'd gotten. I'm going to start googling all variations of "Q..." Studios and see where it leads!! If nothing else, it will be an interesting journey!
Much Appreciated

Thank you ttttootall
Did you recognise the piece as I would never have guessed Quintin Lake as the signature... I did spend a good deal of time looking up Quizotine studio glass!!!!!!! I really appreciate this - that is definitely it and having googled some other pieces I'm 100% sure you've got it.
Thank you again - that's v interesting and I'll enjoy researching this properly.
Have a good day,

I have a lovely silver oxide pulled feather paperweight by Quintin Lake from '83. I've had no luck finding any info on the artist, I can find a few more of his pieces, but no bio's or history and anything.
I did send a note, including a few photos, to Quintin Lake, the UK photographer, asking if he was related, perhaps he was the glassblowers son, since the name is so distinctive. He was kind enough to respond within a few hours with a "no".
He said he's been asked a few times, and had even had people asking to buy his glass work, but that he had never done glass, and knew nothing about the artist.
Oh well.

Is this the one currently on eBay? I ask because these pics are on eBay.
-
yes, I listed it today.
I don't say anything, since I don't want anyone to think I'm drumming up sales here.
