Title: Deco style jug, help please.
Post by: keith on January 25, 2015, 07:17:52 PM
8 inches tall with small polished pontil mark, can't decide if it's of the period or not, well made and probably part of a set, any ideas welcome, ;D ;D

hi Keith......    black and clear apparently a popular period deco colour combination, so presumably seen on material from many factories............  is your black a real black?
Anna Fogelberg included black feet on some of her designs for T/Webb, but those probably only high end pieces   -  did this one make you think of Webb?

Hello Paul, I did wonder if it was Stuart, the black, if you look through the pontil mark at a bright light appears to be a deep red, it has internal ribs and tool marks to the rim, would be great if it was Webb, ;D

if it was either of those two I'd have thought far more likely to be T/Webb  -  did Stuart ever do 'black' and clear do you know  -  don't think I've ever seen a piece.

Orrefors did some of this two tone, but I lack any specific knowledge.
