Hi,
I wonder is someone can help me with an attribution for this glass, I purchased it as a German Enameled Roamer which with my little knowledge sounded OK.
The glass has a lovely flower and leaf design - Iris I think which is outlined with gold gilt, also the rim is gilt lined. The foot is trumpet shaped and hollow with 8 cut sides. The glass is 8" in height.
Is this glass German and what factory would it have been and also what date. I have looked on Google and found similar shapes but non with flowers mainly armorial.
Many thanks

I've no knowledge of these whatsoever, but maybe Fritz Heckert might be a possibility.
I found this one which has some good similarities in the shape of the stem, foot, panel cutting and merese. I do not know what the source of the id is though as I don't have that book

it seems to match in height but you could check all the dimensions of yours against the advert
sizes:
Höhe: ca. 20,3 cm
Durchmesser: Kuppa-Öffnung ca. 6,1 cm, Stand ca. 7,5 cm

Cyclamen (Alpenveilchen) instead of Iris, I think ;)

Many thanks for the help and for pointing me in a different direction.
I've spent an hour on Google and found several very similar drinking glasses by Fritz Heckert, the designs being attributed to Ludwig Sütterlin. Hopefully I'm now on the right track but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks for correcting me on the flower, I don't think Iris was a bad guess considering I get daffodils and dandelions mixed up. :) :)

I'm not sure about Ludwig Sütterlin. You'd need to check dates for when the glass might date to I think and also styles of enamelling to see if they match the right time period for his work there.

actually this one is attributed as Sutterlin and 1903 and has the same stem so you could be right.
The source of the attribution would need to be double checked though :)
