Title: Glasses need to know what era etc
Post by: AMBLERSMI1 on January 30, 2015, 08:28:52 PM
Picked these up at an estate sale and there were 6 two with stickers
Made in Italy
Salviati &C
Murano

I cannot find out any info on them and was hoping someone could tell me when they were made. Logic tells me with the sticker that its probably mid 1900's but as I said no information about them.
They measure 4 1/2 inches in height and 1 1/2 inches from lip to lip

Welcome to the forum.

My first instinct would be more modern than that but how much I don't know. I also suspect that similar have been made for many years.

A photo showing a single glass and another showing some detail of the design might be useful.

This is the Terzo fuoco technique which is pointing at the fifties or sixties . I did not know Salviati produced anything like it - but cannot exclude it either. Most tf pieces were produced by barbini in martelago which the family considers an ebarrasment.  A side shot would be useful.
