Title: German weight?

Hi all,I bought this some time ago online and sadly it has a few dinks and what not,I thought it maybe German,any thoughts manythanks

Hi Bat20,

Yes, I believe your intuition is correct; probably out of Thuringia (Von Brackel, "Classic Silesian Bohemian" Pg. 300).

For me, the "tell" is in the second row of canes with the yellow floral centers and the red sheathed white strands of filigree round the circumference.

Thanks LB,yet another book to get I feel,it has a quite a few dinks unfortunately and would probably cost to much to bring it back to it's former glory so I might give it a go with a dremil myself.

how old might this be please - and why would you not leave it as is, as it carries it's history with it?  The 'wrinkles of life' are it's DNA.

I'm guessing about 100 years and a good point m,I think I'll do just that.
