Title: Is this an English Decanter?

I think that this decanter is English and possibly 19th C. Can anyone confirm?

It is 14 1/4" h, the body alternating with diamond cut and lozenge. The stopper is hollow, and matches perfectly the body, although its seating is a bit tenuous. the underside is sunburst.

hello  -  it may well be all that you suggest of it - on the other hand it may not :)            Am I correct in thinking this is an item of pressed glass?         This may account for the less than perfect seating of the stopper.
Pressed designs were made in a variety of countries, and we would need to find the exact pattern, and maker, to feel confident in saying it was British.
Take it that you can't seen any marks or Nos. on the glass.

Fred has posted images of some pressed decanters, I believe, so it's worth looking at the Board's Glass Gallery archive just on the off chance you might find this design  -  possibly not but always worth a peek.

If I had to guess (never a good policy if you want the truth) then I'd have thought not C19 and more like 1920 - 1950 period. :)

so sorry for my mistake  -  been out for a long and arduous walk and was knackered when I wrote that - at least that's my excuse  -  of course Christine is correct - you certainly couldn't get a plunger in or out of this one.                     
I got rather carried away by the fact that it wasn't cut. ;D :-[

no marks, numbers, or seams. I would go with the mold blown answer. the glass does refract light, which makes it lead based, and explains its weightiness.

but now that I think more about it, the decanter seems continental to me. thanks for gallery suggestion.
