Title: Blue cased in clear vase with Vertical Cuts
Post by: petet63 on February 22, 2015, 09:31:05 PM
Could anyone help with this Vase. 17cm in height and 2475g in weight. Polished base. As you can see it has vertical unpolished cuts. I feel I have seen this in my searches previously but can't find anything now. Thanks.

This vase was made by Waterford believe it or not.

Or perhaps for Waterford, as I think it's more of a brand than anything else these days

Bearing in mind Christine's reply, I read somewhere (don't ask me where, it was some forum on glass abroad iirc) where they said that Ajka made for Waterford, but that the items Ajka made for were marked with the marks of the destination brand.

Made for Waterford is the correct term I think. Waterford are good at marking their wares and this was not marked so maybe one slipped through. They have a few Art Glass pieces that I would not have associated with them.
