Title: Orrefors vase
Post by: culverwood on March 03, 2015, 12:53:09 PM
I recently bought a vase I hoped was something else, it has the overall shape of some of Simon Gate's vases, however it has the following identification:

Orrefors N.1968.BJ (could be BY or B followed by a continental 7)

Nils Landberg?           Birgitta Johansson?

Can any one help?

Designed by Nils Landberg 1939. Last letters are the engravers initials. Shows a male holding a flower pot or similar.

There is no BJ listed as an engraver in either of my Orrefors reference books.  However they did use B7 to mean it was made in 1950.

Thank you.

I am sorry not to have yet taken a picture but is one of those unremarkable designs with a standing woman holding a bouquet or some such bunch of flowers.

The picture from the auction site was worse than useless as you can see but its shape gave me hope, since dashed, of something better by SG.
