Title: Monart looking bowl but could it be Loetz Schaumglas. ID = Monart
Post by: mhgcgolfclub on March 06, 2015, 08:54:27 PM
Help to confirm maker please .
My first though when seeing it was Monart but I am beginning to think it could be Loetz / WMF Schaumglas.
A really colourful glass bowl.

Polished base rim and pontil.
Height just over 5" or 13cm.
Diameter 7.75" or 19.5cm.
Weight 845gm

Thanks Roy

Definitely Monart! Shape WC , smaller size than recorded but that's not too unusual,  or is it shape TB which comes in smaller sizes??
very nice!

Similar coloured bowls pictured below: yours looks more colourful though!!

I agree with Roberta that it is Monart and most probably shape WC and colour code 390.

A third vote for Monart. A well known and wonderful colourway.
I've just been admiring its siblings in Perth museum this afternoon. ;D

Thanks all for confirming its Monart which I first thought when seeing it. I only had some doubt when it was labelled up as Schaumglas and I remember buying a piece which looked like Mdina but in a wrong shape that turned out to be WMF.

I very nearly did not buy it as it does have a 1.5" hairline crack on the rim so left it in the flea market for 4 hours  before deciding to buy it. I am glad I did because I think it was to nice to leave behind.

Thanks Roy
