Title: Murano / AVeM ID help, please - Orange Compote and Vase
Post by: emurken on March 06, 2015, 11:48:44 PM
Hi folks, I've recently picked up these orange beauties from a local estate. The tall vase measures 14.75", the lidded dish 10.75"; the vase has what I believe is the AVeM red foil Murano sticker on the base. If anyone has additional info re. era, designer, or line, etc., I'd greatly appreciate it!
Cheers,
Murk

These generic Murano labels are difficult to pin down as to manufacturer so someone else will have to chime in. I do know some AVEM foil labels have AVEM on them or on a label like yours where AVEM is not present there is there is a star under the Italy on the label which supposedly represents AVEM.

Hi Murk, welcome to the board!

Here is a link to the real AVeM label (and some info) >> Link (http://www.fossilfly.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=2136)
Very nice pieces, though :)

I had a quick look through my Murano books, but nothing similar...

This is a great start - thank you both for your help, and thanks for the welcome!
I had seen this link on the Murano Labels thread, which threw me: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?album=102&pos=13&PHPSESSID=7f4b49909344a26c5b8eff3374fcebb5

But it makes more sense to me that they are not AVeM, as I haven't seen any similar pieces among their verified works. So this leaves me knowing that they are Murano, and waiting for some new glass books in the post. If anyone has any further ideas / insights, they will be greatly appreciated!

Happy day,
Murk
