Title: ID Help - lampworked swan
Post by: LesBeatiques on March 19, 2015, 09:38:54 PM
Good day all,

This piece is roughly 3-1/8" in diameter and 2-1/2" tall. Set low in a relatively high dome a lampworked side profile white swan with black bill and eye and a few cattail style reeds over a bed of green speckled crushed glass. It is unsigned and has a flat polished base.

Thanks in advance for the help.
Eric

I've been thinking that this might be Caithness...any thoughts?

If it were Caithness, it would be a new addition to my catalogue ... no, I would exclude Caithness, definitely not a production item from there.

I guess it is either Murano or Chinese - I personally would go for Chinese but let's see what others think

I agree with Dave, but I was thinking more Murano than Chinese. On the other hand, maybe I do agree with Dave's choice! Hmm.

Thanks so much for the impute. It sounds like we can all at least agree it's not Caithness...Something about the ground, the overall quality, & subject made me think possibly a one-off.

Chinese colours always seem much more primary and matte to me. This is more subtle
