Title: Signed pink studio bowl w/folded rim - ID = Chet Cole, Vermont,
Post by: Pinkspoons on March 20, 2015, 08:22:25 PM
A thick-walled bowl/vase in a dusty pink with a folded over rim, finished to the base with a rough pitted pontil mark and a signature that is simultaneously clear and illegible!

I've no idea if it beings with 'Aa...' or 'Cl...' or something else entirely. I've hit Google with everything that looked plausible.

 ???

Any help gratefully received.

??  Could it be GAB or GABE COLE ??

As I found a Gabriele Cole  HERE, Click  (http://froghollow.org/category/catalog/frog-hollow-online-gallery/glass-items)  see there :Amythest Bubble Bowl

Quoted from there
""Gabriel Cole is a second-generation glass blower who combines traditional methods and new technologies into his “free blown” work. He begins his process in the glass furnace and moves onto the gaffer’s bench where the pieces take shape in his deft hands......""

???  Not sure -- Just throwing it out there.....  ???

....OR....just throwing these out there.

There is also a CHET COLE   HERE  (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-CHET-COLE-Hand-Blown-Art-Glass-Apple-and-Pear-FIGURINES-PAPERWEIGHTS-SIGNED-/141609271604#ht_330wt_900).....look at all samples of writing on those....as possiblity.

I DO think the last name is COLE, in my opinion but just what I *think* I see...  ???

The writing on the one looks closer to yours....and color kinda??

Chet Cole - googling "chet cole" glassmaker (incl. the quotes) reveals enough hits for this to be reasonably conclusive. A Vermont artist in his 70s.

Some very excellent sleuthing. Thanks, both!

As an additional nugget of information - the studio was/is called Country Glass, in which he worked with his wife, Viiu Niiler.
