Edward Moore & Co., South Shields, registered three glassware designs on 13 July 1887 - design numbers 76878, 76879 and 76880. Jenny Thompson (page 21) simply describes them as ‘shape (oval, lobed)’ but does not illustrate them.
Up to now I cannot recall having seen examples or photos of any of the three designs, but here, for reference, is an oval, 8-lobed, clear pressed glass dish (6x9 inches) with intricate surface decoration and embossed RD number 76879.
(Permission for the re-use of these images on the GMB granted by simplyjo2014).
I will add the omages to the Glass Queries gallery GMB RD database shortly.
Does anyone have photos of Edward Moore’s RD’s 76878 or 76880 to show, please, for comparison?
Fred.
