Title: Christopher Dresser design?
Post by: glasseyed on March 29, 2015, 03:45:33 PM
Hi All

I was very pleased to buy this claret jug which is marked H&H. I have looked up the mark and it belongs to Hukin & Heath and was used until 1904. I know that Dresser designed for them but wonder if anyone out there can point me to any evidence he designed this jug?

Thanks

Hazel

Doesn't pop up in Harry Lyons' Christopher Dresser - The People's Designer - 1834-1904.

Thanks for looking, I thought perhaps it was a Dresser design as the top of the jug is the same as one with a different glass body, which I have seen attributed to Dresser. I understand that the company's design records were destroyed when the company closed in 1953 so maybe I will never know for sure.
