i have a vase said to be pate de verre, having an irregular conical shape, made of deep green glass with a couple of red ribbons partially wrapping the vase. Two halves were fused together. The surface is smooth yet irregular, reminding me at times of orange peel. It is 8 1/4" h. Does anyone have any ideas about maker, country of origin, or age?

Yes I do - I have one in reddish brown. These were made in India about 3 years ago. It is a far cry from pāte-de-verre though. This is a rough glass type with iron oxide or some other colourant in it, crudely blown in a 2-part mould. PDV is a glass powder compacted in a mould and baked, allowing the most fantastic shapes and colourations.
