5 inches tall, hollow base, gilding worn on snake, help please, ;D

At first I thought perfume bottle but if you mean hollow like no bottom then I'm going to guess candle holder.

Other than that I really have no idea.

Could be missing something Kieth?.

This one has a metal rod through the middle with a steel washer holding the top and base together.

The snake is very similar, I did wonder if it was the base of a bowl but the 'top' has the same finish to the rest of the surface and apart from some wear around the edge no marks indicating something is missing, maybe a 'leg' to support a cake stand, just guessing now  ::)
