Hi all,
Im in real help of an i;d of this lovely weight. Its got the look and feel of a Murano piece. It has windows all over it which has Blue colouring inside. looking through the pontil the inside is all Silver, but im not sure how it looks Silver from the inside but looks Blue on the outside??? It measures 50mm high by 65mm wide, with a nice weight to it.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards.

I agree, this is from Murano. Not sure of the vintage.
-
I suspect it's hollow and lined with foil
-
I just bought one too, here in Australia. It is actually a paperweight with the silver across the dome that has then had the clear murrini tiles added to the outer layer.

Lustrousstone,
Yes it is hollow, and has indeed been lined with silver.
Ross:
I can see what Your saying, but how do you think it is blue on the outside? Does yours have an embossed feel to it?
It really is nice, but im struggling to put a glass factory and designer to it and date?
So far then i think the general feeling is thats it Murano.
I would love to hear from more paperweight collectors on this one.
Regards.

Blue over foil, murrines with clear centres on blue and then clear over the lot

Lustrousstone,
That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
Still need a maker, designer, and production date? ;)
