Title: Please help I.D. this opaline hand enamelled 'apothecary' jar
Post by: nick.a on April 14, 2015, 02:03:04 PM
Hi,
Found this jar in a charity shop and haven't a clue when or where it was made. Have seen similar described as 'Bristol Glass' on U.S sites.  It stands just under 12"/ 300mm tall with a top diameter of 3 1/4"/ 83mm and is partially satinised. The form of the base reminds me of mould blown, Bohemian spatter vases of the late 19th early 20th C and the enamelling looks early 20thC in style( but then what do I know?). Any pointers gratefully received.
Thanks
Nick
