Title: Sowerby fern engraved custard?

Hi,I think this is a custard but not sure,it just has the peacock head so I can't date it accurately,definitely a Victorian pteriiii....pttehi.....fern crazy piece I would say,any thoughts on dates please.

A fern pattern dates items through Victorian times, between the 1850s and 1890s, but I'm not sure when Sowerby produced this.

Ok,thanks David,maybe when they first started using the peacock?
