Title: Please help ID. ID = Perthshire Paperweights PP19
Post by: incazzatonero on May 29, 2015, 08:46:52 PM
This could be Perthshire 1995, but is it general range or what ever?
There is engraved on the bottom the number 206,

Hi.  It is quite similar to a PP19, apart from the centre cane, so I think it may be an unusual PP19 or one of the many '1 of 1' or trial pieces they made, and sold through the factory shop.

And what does number 206 mean?

Hi there,

The number 206 refers to the edition number of this weight. So it is not a 1/1 but number 206 of 350.

Also, I knew I had seen 'your weight' before; it was identified as a PP19 for 1995. As all PP editions were produced in a limited number every year and as there were sometimes slight differences of design between the years, it would make sense. It would be the reason why it does not look like other PP19 you may have come across. I have included a link to it below:

Hi Sophie!
You wrote: "The number 206 refers to the edition number of this weight. So it is not a 1/1 but number 206 of 350".
Are you sure? Usually by a limited edition we have two numbers. For example in this case  206/ 350.
But here we have only the number 206.
Alan, in my opinion, is also usually the "Pope of paperweights" and he have said perhaps 1/1.
What is right?

Hi.  I had not spotted the number on the image....Sophie is correct: '206' is the number of the limited edition. Perthshire (like Whitefriars, but unlike Caithness) usually gave just the one number on their Limited Edition pieces, so this fits with your paperweight being a PP19.
