Hi, I wondered if anyone can tell me if this is a Whitefriars duck.
It's 6 1/4 inches high & quite heavy, with a polished base and beak.

Easy enough to say definitely not Whitefriars. Your photos are so small it is hard to see any detail to offer an alternative.
The Whitefriars ducks have controlled bubbles and a shape with some subtle variations that is generally similar to this one.

Thank you glass obsessed and Paul. I had to shrink the pictures to get them to fit. Every time I shrunk them it said they were too big. I guess now they're too small!
I have Dilly ducks but just wondered if Whitefriars made ducks without bubbles?

Kingslyne or Wedgwood maybe? The eyes are similar. I didn't think it Wedgwood because it's not marked.

Looking in Susan Tobin's book, and comparing with this one, Wedgwood ducks appear to have less of the Disney humorous stylization, and seem to be just a little more realistic. Trouble is that ducks and whatever other animals etc., have been made by so many producers.
Perhaps Rosie might have some thoughts on this piece.
P.S. the fact that an animal lacks a backstamp wouldn't, on it's own, be a reason for discounting Wedgwood......... it's not uncommon to find their pieces without a mark. Seem to remember that Christine says those without a mark are seconds from the shop, I think.
