Mystery ID of a very rare hand vase solved at last . This should confirm maker as John Derbyshire as marked on the Base with John Derbyshire trade mark.

Thank you for showing this, Roy.
On checking through my reference photos I find that I have some of a similar vase in green uranium glass (also bearing the JDanchor trademark).

Thanks for showing the uranium one Fred. Would seem to be a very uncommon item.
I can only see one problem now looking at the vases, Angela said the Derbyshire vase has a 24 point rim and the black one 12. Looking at the only picture of the black unidentified that looks correct, my frosted vase and your pictures of the uranium one both have 14.

Thank you Roy for alerting me to this vase. :)
It arrived today & it is a very special addition to my collection. I have compared it closely to the black vase, & have noted these details:
Black vase measures 19.5 cm tall, & 6 cm across the top rim.
Clear frosted vase measures 19 cm tall, & 6.5 cm across the top rim.
The black vase is noticeably heavier & thicker than the clear one.
I like the look of the green uranium vase very much, if I saw that one for sale I would be very tempted! ;)

[Hi Marinka, we've missed you :-* ]

Thanks, Christine, very sweet of you to say so!
Yes, I'm back...I tried to stop collecting glass for several years, but I've fallen off the wagon! ;)
But I'm justifying all new purchases (either hand vases or peloton glass only) by selling off excess pieces from my collection. So for everything new I buy I aim to offload at least 3 items per week...sold 11 this week so now I'm allowed to buy whatever I fancy, as long as it's a hand vase that I don't yet have! :)

Sounds like a good plan and the erasers?

I'm hanging onto those for the time being. At least they are small & I can fit thousands into a storage box - no need for them to be on display. But I also have a lot of pencil cases, & all kinds of other stationery...I'll eventually sell some off & keep the favourites. Stationery has gone into a hiatus now & glass is definitely back on the agenda! :)
