A 6.75 inch green and a 6 inch uranium, 'Big Brum fair' pretty hopeless now, this was all that was there ! ::) ;D ;D
-
Very nice - I think the colour of the large vase is Evergreen, but perhaps someone will correct me.
The shape of the trumpet vase I have not seen before.
-
Evergreen is more bluish rather than yellowish and uranium
-
I was hoping it was 'evergreen' never mind, the green has the usual 'birds eye' view of a square formed by the 'waves' the trumpet vase is a triangle, not seen that before, ;D
-
I think it is Evergreen? ??? Described in Webb's own catalogue as 'actually the famous old "Bristol Green", of which the secret has for long been a forgotten art.'.
Keith's certainly is green as Bristol Green can be. The image in the catalogue (not a photo) is rather pale and does look 'bluish', but I think that's a printing/colour problem :-X

Thanks for that Christine.
There does appear to be very subtle differences - Keith's is slightly more emerald - but it is very difficult to tell when the photos are taken under very different lighting conditions, using different cameras, and neither are colour corrected. However, assuming there is a difference, perhaps both were made as Evergreen at different times, using a slightly different mix?
Unless, apart from Spring, there's another Webb green...

British racing green ? :o ;D ;D ;D
-
I had a car in that colour. A little Austin Marina. Lovely car, but did not like Canadian distances or winters....

For info on the colour "British Racing Green", see this Wiki entry (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green). The basic history of the origins of the colour seems to tie in with info from a recent UK TV program about early racing cars.
BRG may well not be what most of us thought it was!!

Interesting remark David re the catalogue calling it "Bristol Green". That is exactly the thought I had when I got my decanter. A mongrel to photograph the colour though.
Will post more recent photos later. This one is too "blue" the colour is a clear emerald, and more intense.

This is a much later 'Webb' production (1980s, I have a few) that I believe were sourced from Bohemia, but it was also referred to as Bristol Green. Just another name to throw around...
