I believe this is Czechoslovakian Glass by Karlovarske Sklo it's 9.5 inches high but not sure, any one know? .
-
Hi, welcome to the board!
I don't think this vase is Czech (and it is definately not Karlovarske Sklo); similar vases do turn up with "Made in Romania" stickers, or sometimes Cyrillic script labels...
Does it have a roughly ground, unpolished base? -- If so, very unlikely to come from Czechoslovakia.

No it has as you can see from the pictures a very smooth base, all the books I have read and pictures of other pieces, especially with the lower wings suggest it is Czech. Not an expert though
-
Thanks for providing the base pics.
As far as I can see (your pics are a bit small) the base is matte insead of shiny, so I would stil exclude Czech origin -- almost any piece of Czech post war glass I have seen so far has a highly polished base...

The dullish colours and slightly green clear glass also suggest Romania to me

Hi,I've got one with a label ,I posted it on here but can't find it at the moment and it's boxed up in the attic, from what I can remember it's is Romanian of the Cold War period,I'll dig it out.
-
@bat20: it would be great if you could dig out a pic of a labeled one -- I had searched the web yesterday without any luck...

Will do Michael,I think I made the fatal mistake of posting it under the title green vase.
-
Aha,found it,the label actually says 'Yugoslavia Prokuplje',so I may have posted it under a Yugoslavian glass title. From what I can remember Prokuplje hardly makes any glass now having several factories back in the day.
