Hi
I've got a hand hammered pattern carnival glass item on a metal pedestal mount which I was hoping for help with id please? I bought it over ten years ago and I thought it may have been sowerby but may be totally off the mark as I don't know much about carnival glass at all, I only bought it as it was iridescent which I was just getting into at the time? Pretty sure it was made from 2 peices of glass as theres vertical seams front and back running from top to bottom, there are no makers marks etc on any part of it. It stands 7" tall and the widest part of the glass body is approx 4 and 1/2". I've had it about 10 years, it was old when I bought it but not sure how old though I had thought at a guess that it was maybe 1930's ish as it looks like art deco to me but I'm into art nouveau styles? :)
Anyone got any ideas please?
Thanks :)

It was the mould the glass was blown into that was in two pieces; hence the apparent seam. It remind me of this jar, but I've never found out who made it http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=48

Hi Lustrousstone :)
thanks for the info :D
Yes, it looks like the same decor to me, even down to the random blocks of hammered detail going in different directions, its just different colorway plus yours is silver where this is a light weight base metal of some type :) I think it's a hurricane lamp or candle holder but I'm not 100% sure?
