Title: Some help needed with a Seguso Vetri D'arte Vase
Post by: DavidUnger on July 21, 2015, 09:00:38 PM
Hello

I have recently bought a Seguso Vetri D'arte Vase. It is quite large, with the maximum width being 11 inches approx. It has a Seguso Vetri D'arte sticker as shown. It is in a mushroom shape and isn't like one I have ever seen before.

It isn't signed and I would really like to find out the name of the artist, era (1970s?) and any other information available. I have checked all over Google to no avail.

Many thanks in advance :)

David

I think this colour combination was introduced in the mid-1980s.

But I've a suspicion that the design of your vase might have originated at the Vistosi glassworks, possibly as a mould for a table lamp, and was reproduced in updated colours by SVd'A when they acquired Vistosi and its back-catalogue in the late-80s / early-90s, I believe.

Thanks for the information. I must admit it reminded me more of their lamps than their vases, the closest shape I can think of is the lamp with the candy stripe design.
