Title: Red fish vase
Post by: LouisXIV on July 26, 2015, 10:42:53 AM
Hello!

I bought this red fish today. As always they say it's from an old lady who went to Venice years ago, so it should be Murano glass. But I've seen about 1000 fishes on the internet today, but not one similar. Does anybody have an idea?

It's weight is 1383 grams, height is 27 cm, width is 12 en it's 25 long.

Thanks a lot!

I presume the old lady made a trip to the US of A! ;)

Thank you very much Keith!

But... ;D
The Empoli fish were widely copied in Italy, not Murano though, but Empoli.
I would think one of the many Blenko collectors can tell the difference easily.

My opinion only...its not Blenko. It sits far too upright, its mouth (opening) is far too small & not the right shape & the tail proportionally is too small, but again thats just me.
