Post by: malcmat on July 30, 2015, 03:30:42 PM
Hi, trying to I/D this dome cut Weight. 8 deep ground and polished v cuts to the dome and a flat ground now matt base with lots of ware usage marks. Its had a hard life looking at the condition 8.3cm dia x 3.1cm tall = 3 .250 inch dia x 1.250 inches tall.
Any help with manufacturing period / country would be appreciated.

Hi.  I doubt it will be possible to tie this down to a maker, but I would suggest Belgium / Alsace as the origin.

Hi.  My guess based on the rather dull red colour and style would be pre-1940, but it could well be 19th century.
