Looks like too much squiggling for Mdina to me
-
that is what i thought, but the squat vase it looks more like mdina. they came from a house clearance with a load of other mdina. I have seen this squiggle before and thought it was not but now am unsure
-
Too much squiggling, the wrong shade of blue and a completely different way of finishing off a base.
Not Mdina, and sorry, :-[I haven't a clue what they might actually be. They both look to be well made pieces, the bird has some character and the vase has very nice proportions.
Can we ask you to please post imges directly to the board? :)
There is plenty of techie info. and help here
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,22.0.html
on how to do it.
Links to images have a nasty habit of not linking to the image after a while and we end up left with a discussion thread that is meaningless as it is not illustrated.
-
i am sorry i do not understand ?
-
oh the problem for me is that the website wont accept my pictures, and i do not understand how to make them the right size. I am not technical, and its all very confusing. i did some pictures yesterday of a paperweight and that was so small.
-
That's why I gave you the link to all the techie info.
I'm a complete ignoramus about computers, don't know my pixiels from my urls, but I do manage to resize, using paint shop pro.
The page I linked to gives you the instructions for lots of different resizing packages - all you need to do is find the right set of instructions for whatever package you have.
If you do not have a package, you will find out there how to get hold of a free one.
I like paint shop pro, it's the one I have learned, but other folk seem to prefer some others. You just need to decide which package to use and follow the instruction.

Try Irfanview: www.irfanview.com
However, like all image editing programs, you still need to understand the basics. The other point about using remote links is that the board can never be sure if they are the property of the poster, which could otherwise infringe Šopyright.
Try resizing the image so the longest side is 800 pixels, then save as a JPEG with about 80% compression (just a guide as a very complex-looking photo can require more compression). You are aiming for a file size of less than 125KB, which should be reported to you if you hover the mouse over the file in the Explorer window. Give it a try.

Hi,
Just thought I'd add my two penneth. I'm a simple fella, and the simplest option for me is to use the basic resources that Microsoft has available, namely 'Paint'.
If you 'right click' on an image, scroll down to 'open with' and follow the arrow across to 'Paint' and 'left click', you're in. (you can also open through 'Accessories' on the Start menu)
In the Image section of the Menu Bar you click on resize and alter accordingly (usually 20/25% for your average photo)
Paint is very simple to use and you would benefit by playing.
There's no need to download software and the end product is perfectly adequate for the GMB.
Hope this may help those of you 'Luddites' like me.
Best Regards
Nick
