Title: Red frosted glass with gold & blue swirls
Post by: Bandit76 on August 16, 2015, 08:41:10 AM
This is another one of my inherited pieces I'm thinking of selling.  Would anybody have any idea what kind of glass this is, maker and value?  Thank you so much.

Values are rarely given here due to many fluctuations in the market. It is also a subjective view: carboot/garage sale, flea market, antique shop or auction will all give hugely different results.

Any value would, of course, take into account the nicks on the rim! Good luck anyway.

Thank you for that last reply, but would anyone happen to know what kind of glass this is, who may have created it?  Thank you.

See Ivo's reply here, your vase is from the same 'stable': http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,39257.0.html

Thank you so much, John.  It does look a bit similar, except mine does not appear to be painted on the outside - the blue and gold colors look like they were swirled in and part of the actual glass.

I don't believe the Israeli glass is painted on the outside either. Merely bought in as blanks and acid-etched or sandblasted. Your vase does have a similar treatment to the outside and this is the link that John was attributing.
