Recently acquired vase which was described as being 1960s, but just wondering if it is possibly much older? Although unlike vintage Czech spatter vases that I've come across in the past, this one has been rolled in multi-coloured frit which remains quite coarse to the touch. It is also clear cased.
What does anyone think please?
TIA :)

;D
I am stumped and as curious as you are. It's sort of "space-age design style" in shape, but like you, wonder if it is older than the '60s.
I've got my popcorn and a comfy seat. ;)
Before I enlarged it, I did have a fleeting wonder if it might be Strathearn Granite - it's not.

Look for an impressed Czechoslovakia on the base, I had two of these vases both had marks but one was extremely faint, I did not notice it until much later: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,55647.0.html
Also seen this vase with a blue base.

Thanks for your comments folks :-*
The base is very gritty and impossible to see if there would be any marks at all. Nice to see a similar pair John - thanks for the link. May be they only marked the ones with smooth bases ???
I have a thing for orange glass ::) so just had to have it, even though my orange 'collection' is c.1960s, but I did think at the time, before getting my hands on it, that it might be Welz or some other Czech company and not 1960s as suggested. Its quite slimline and just over 6 inches (16cm) high and 2" (5cm) at its widest. Weird but strangely wonderful.
Move over Sue - I'm partial to a bucket of popcorn or two ;D
