Title: Peter Holmes - Noddy & Big Ears Paperweights

Hi All
I recently acquired this unusual paperweight of a Gnome made by Peter Holmes. I have known Peter for many years but never seen him make a paperweight with a figure in before so I thought I would post this for all to see, as to me, this is something a little different from him. It is 3" in diameter and has the Scottish Borders Art Glass label and a PH cane in the base

That's no ordinary gnome - pretty sure that's Noddy's pal, Big Ears.

one just sold on ebay with noddy and big ears in the weight

I emailed Peter Holmes and he replied saying that someone had commissioned two copies of a weight showing Noddy and two copies of another weight showing Big Ears weight so it seems someone has sold one copy of just the Big Ears when you might think they might have kept two together as a pair but there you go - mystery solved !

the weight on ebay had both noddy and big ears together in one weight not on their own

 Noddy and Big Ears weight arrived today  its engraved on base Scottish Borders Art Glass Peter Holmes 2006 also has his signature cane on base and fully labelled, alright so maybe not the best detailed  weight ive seen Noddys face isn't great lol but unusual for Peters work and it had not been an easy item to make and I bet it took a lot of time and effort and I just love it cant believe I got it so cheap.   it makes a nice addition to a Scottish weights collection, Noddy and Big Ears are set on a mottled purple ground ,  the weight measures 3 1/4 inches across by 2 inches high , quite a heavy weight for its size weighing just over 1.1lbs /500gms,
