Title: Baccarat Paperweight Hot Pressed Mark
Post by: cxgirl on September 28, 2015, 06:35:42 AM
Sorry, no photos of the weight, but it has a Baccarat hot pressed mark. From what I can find, they should have a signature cane or acid etch mark - so would the hot pressed mark be a fake mark?

Hi Mary.  Probably a fake - these hot pressed (or occasionally etched) fake marks turn up regularly in the US, usually on low value Chinese or Murano paperweights.  The key to safe ID is the canes in the paperweight, not any mark on the back!

Thank-you Alan! To my untrained eye it doesn't seem like it would be Baccarat - I've suggested they post it here to get confirmation on what it is.
