Title: Blue bottle hand blown I'd.
Post by: bat20 on October 03, 2015, 05:35:51 PM
Hi all,I'm hoping this bottle is old and I have come across similar types on continental glass sites, this one is 11" high with a pointy broken Pontil and good wear to the base, there are quite a few stretched bubbles in the soda glass and lots of tooling marks, any ideas on dates and area it maybe from thanks.Just to add it's very light?

Collection of storage jars and bottles, south German and Austrian 19th. century,   Consisting of two bottles, a handled jar and three jars. Light green glass with unfinished and kicked up pontil mark, mouth partly folded outward. H. 13 - 33,5 cm.

Pretty safe description, it seems. Not necessarily made in Germany - there must be a dozen places making similar.
