Title: Signature Cane identification
Post by: Krecik on October 09, 2015, 12:13:28 PM

Good morning ,

More recent purchases.  These 2 paperweights were purchased together. They are very small.  Both look like they have a similar signature canes. They look like either Willian Iorio or Lewis Kain canes? Were they both made by the same person and who?

Thanks,

John

John,
The signature canes are for William Iorio. According to 'The Dictionary of Paperweight Signature Canes' by Andy Dohan, William Iorio used a letter 'I' in red or blue.
Nice finds.  Is the millefiori weight on a pedestal?

Good morning ,

Thanks. Yes the millefiori weight is on a pedestal , it is very small ~ 3/4" in Diameter.   I thought they were both I canes but if you look at the picture on the next page there is a very similar Lewis Kain Cane.  The cane in the floral weight is not clear and a little distorted so I wasn't sure.

Thanks ,

John
