Latest purchase arrived today and is a lovely sommerso vase with stunning turqoise cased in bristol blue and clear. It measures 7.5" high and 7" wide and the glass is just under an inch thick. Has the early Aureliano Toso label to the base from the early 1950's.
So is it a Dino Martens piece? Well I know he did some early work in sommerso, probably around this time. The shape is also unusual in that each side has 2 distinct impressed panels (not apparent from the picture) and when viewed from above has a distinctly uneven shape to it.
Thoughts please and if not Martens then who, all comments and ideas welcome.

Beautiful piece... what did you pay? If I may ask...

Hi Paul,
Lovely piece - very interesting for Aurliano Toso.
Not all the Marten's pieces are catalogued, so it is possible that he designed it. However, it is not what he is know for doing. As you point out, he did a wide range of styles. In Heiremann's book on Martens, there are pieces in the back cataloge pages that one would never guess were by Martens, especially the human figurals.
I think you're safe thinking that Martens probably designed your decanter.
