Title: Alfredo Barbini / Cenedese - Murano ID?
Post by: sawi on October 23, 2015, 04:09:12 PM
Hi, is this an Alfredo Barbini aquarium for Cendedese?
And when was it made? In the 60s?

Many thanks!

What do you mean exactly by Barbini aquarium FOR Cenedese?

Based on my knowledge I am not aware that Cenedese ever made aquarium style Murano Glass...

Cenedese certainly made this kind of aquarium sculptures, though there may be other companies which produced similar style pieces.
I have seen some with incised Cenedese marks, too.
No idea if all are based on a design by Alfredo Barbini...

When I visited Venice last year, I saw pieces identical to this one in the Cenedese store at St. Marcus square, alongside many other well known designs from past decades, like Antonio da Ros "Contrapunto" vases etc.
