Title: Georgian or repro folded foot ale glass?.
Post by: brucebanner on November 03, 2015, 10:33:20 AM
Hello all ,i have recently been asked this question about a similar glass i'm selling, it has the right colour, the right ring dirt in the folds from years of dust and a nice wide folded foot with a domed shape giving it a date between  1730-80 according to Wilkinsons Hallmarks of antique glass, however there is no rough pontil just a ball shape in the middle of the underside of the foot where the stem has been pushed into the foot, hence why i'm not sure it's of age as i have never seen a glass like this before.

So is it real or repro, any thoughts welcome, kind regards Chris.

4 inches in height, 2 1/4 inches across the foot and 1 1/2 inches across the rim.

Can you tell us about the lip of the bowl. I'm thinking continental.

The bowl is fire polished thick and small considering the size of the foot.
