Title: Barolac 11629 Swan Menu/ Place Card Holders for Show
Post by: Mosquito on November 05, 2015, 04:58:22 AM
Just sharing these as I don't recall having seen any examples of this pattern before.

This is a pair of Inwald/ Barolac menu or place card holders in the form of swans. Both are in opalescent glass. Bases are polished and carry the 'Barolac' acid stamp mark along with 'Made in Czecho-Slovakia. According to the 1949/52 Glassexport Barolac catalogue (available from www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de) these are catalogue no. 11629.

From the marks, opalescence and finishing I believe these are earlier examples (c. mid to late 1930s).

Steven :)

They are beautiful and I love the delicacy of the face molding.

These are so beautiful Steven,  I love Barolac glass and also love swans... two favourites in one.  :)
