Title: Alabaster ? maybe not ?
Post by: keith on December 13, 2015, 06:02:13 PM
4.5 inches across, not so 'white' as the lemonade set I bought the other week that turned out to be Josephenehutte ( excuse spelling ) this has a small polished pontil mark and applied rim, help required please, ::) ;D ;D

Would have thought French, Clichy/Baccarat/St Louis maybe but the small pontil mark a little strange. Possibly Belgian (Zoude?) as a very long shot (just because you mention small pontil mark but not sure the pink trailed rim fits with that as have only seen I think red trailed rim as a possible Zoude).

I would think Portieux/ Valérysthal who are famous for opalines, rather than Zoude.  Could be another French maker though - the field is a bit confused.

Can you hold the plate up to the window daylight and take a picture of the opaline please? and take a pic?  Does it have tiny little white flecks in it?

Ivo, did Portieaux/Vallerysthal do the trailed rims?

P/V did tons of things in Opaline. But Clichy is a strong contender too.
