Title: Blue trailed Sommerso vase help please.
Post by: brucebanner on December 21, 2015, 01:03:56 PM
Any thought's on this one, it looks like the modern trailed Chinese perfume bottles, glows slightly under UV so probably manganese in the glass, there are also a couple of white seeds as per old Victorian glass. It tapers out at the base and looks really well made.

8 inches in height, 3 inches across the upper rim and 4 1/4 inches across the base.

Regards Chris.

I've handled one of these and I believe it's designed and produced by Rony Plesl.

One identical to this sold in Fieldings auction on 13th June, this year. If you look at their website, you'll see it's listed along with the hammer price it achieved. I think it's Lot 381 or thereabouts.
I hope this helps.

Yes it's the same design, Fielding are very good i'm told with glass descriptions, it was from Ebay recently arrived badly packed as usual, rolled up in cardboard and posted, part of the trailed edge has been chipped and it's wonder it made it at all intact.

(Saying that it's a real beauty and i'm keeping it).
