Title: Possible Whitefriars vase?
Post by: Ben.unwin on December 22, 2015, 05:09:46 PM
I have this odd looking bit of glass, came in a job lot with other items bearing a whitefriars label. I am not sure if this is genuine or not as its not in any style that I recognise. It doesn't have a pontil base either but rather an older style base but I'm thinking this is due to being an older bit of glass as the sticker indicates this could date from the 1940s rather than the 70s which they're more commonly known for. It measures around 10" tall
Thanks for any help

Could well be Whitefriars, scroll to the bottom of the page: http://www.whitefriarsorg.co.uk/1940---1961-gallery.php

Definitely not Whitefriars. The pieces that have been linked are ceramic trailed this one appears to be cut.

It's cut, you can see cuts clearly in the pic with the base and on the top one where you can see the indents. I personally would go for Chinese

I didn't see them until the pics were enlarged and I looked carefully for the edges, after Marc commented.

Whoops, so it is. The final image shows it is cut quite clearly....
