Picked up this today, goes well with the black one, it is orange the flash makes it look red ::) ;D ;D
-
Nice find as they're not very common. Strangely, the black ones always get a better price, even though the tangerine (according to catalogues) ones are less often seen. Great for the retro funky 1970s decor.
-
Thanks David although I wouldn't call our home funky 70s more 'weird victoriana' ::) ;D ;D ;D
-
Being named Psychedelic, they are good for the 1960s as well and were designed in 1969-70. My house is an eclectic mix of Victorian right up to modern so I'm not bothered! :D
-
It would look nice in my kitchen!
-
Don't tell me you haven't got one, I thought you had them all ! ;D ;D

Hi, I bought an orange one a couple of weeks ago with a label in one of those antique and collectible shops in Suffolk. Very good price. Really pleased with it, i've wanted one for ages. I have 29 hankies on a big white shelf across my kitchen and had to choose one to store in the roof to make room for this one. Very hard decision! They do look lovely with all the different sizes and colours. They get a lot of interest from visitors. It's horrible putting things away but I can't bear to part with them either. ;D cheryl

Hello Cheryl, just out of interest I counted mine, would you believe 28 ! there is still the broken grid / mesh one but can't really count that one, ;D ;D
-
I'm not going to even start counting... ;D
-
Oh I forgot I have three different sizes of the clear purple stripe on top of a cupboard in the kitchen too! And who knows how many in the roof. ;D Cheryl
-
The three differently sized purple ones can, with care, be stacked within each other to form a nice 'triplet'. Oh, it saves space as well :D
-
That's a very good idea. Now I just need to find three sizes of all the rest too! That should take me a few years. ::) cheryl
-
Several years ago, I did try stacking them, but couldn't get it to work properly. ::)
The folded "corners" do not neccessarily fit with each other.
I'd seen a chihuly exhibition in the V&A, and liked his stacking things in layers to create a 3-D collage of glass to occupy a space, I was trying to fill my kitchen window sill.
You need glass that has been properly made to stack, to make 3-D collages with it. :'(

I got very bored today , I have a rare day to myself so I tried stacking the three purple ones. ;D They do stack but it's a very untidy pile as the big one is not a uniform shape as the other two are made on forms. Also it would be so easy to knock the points off. Won't be doing that again!! Back to being bored I think. :D Cheryl
-
I'll post a photo later of my stack of handkerchief vases if I can find the time. The purple ones are best for this purpose being translucent, but it won't work if the large one isn't exactly uniform!

There is a new indoor antique & collector fair at Warwickshire Cricket Ground in Edgbaston opposite Cannon Hill Park this Sunday. There is always Chance Glass there. Like the London Buses & Beefeater pin trays. This is their third show.

I knew there was something I hadn't done - here's the stack of purple Cordon handkerchief vases. I do also have the same in red polka-dot as well.

That looks good, have you seen the reverse polka-dot on ebay ?
