Title: Isle of Wight Style with unusual pontil mark. ID = Midsummer Glass
Post by: firebird on January 09, 2016, 04:44:39 PM
Can any body help identify this vase. The swirls are actually grooved into the glass as if with a comb. The pontil mark seems to be impressed with star shaped stamp. Any help would be gratefully received.

It looks more Midsummer to me than IoWSG.  :)

I've just searched, and it is - Midsummer glass.

Many thanks Sue. I actually have some Midsummer glass in my collection, but the pontil mark put me off as it's polished flat on the one I've got.

Definitely Midsummer Glass and Dillion Clarke. This sun prunt was quite early I think

Dillon Clarke. You've given her an extra i. :-*

(from the wumman that was searching for Pauline Solven not Dillon Clarke :-[ )

I've got a nice bit of her work, but it's from the RCA. No sun on its bottom.
