Title: Help to ID Old English Inkwell with Silhouette Center Cane
Post by: mhgcgolfclub on January 26, 2016, 02:38:09 PM
Help please to ID this Old English inkwell.

The stopper looks to be a replacement.
Center silhouette cane. Outside canes drawn to the center. Lots of wear to base with a slightly rough pontil.

Height 4.5"

Thanks Roy

Hi Roy.  I am pretty sure it is a Richardson piece.  The canes look like theirs, and I have seen that white female silhouette in green in a couple of other bottles with Richardson canes.  They made stoppers with very thin shafts, which were easily broken - you rarely ever see an original Richardson stopper.
