Title: Vertical rib bowl/ashtray with 20 point star base. ID = Sowerby

I had one of these many years ago but have forgotten where they came from and who made them, although I have a fairly good idea who didn't.
5.25"diameter and 2.25" high - more likely to be an ashtray with its sawtooth rim.
Any ideas please?
