Title: Pair of heavy cased vases - Scandinavian or Italian?
Post by: Anne E.B. on February 02, 2016, 02:26:49 PM
Any ideas as to origins/maker of this pair of vases would be much appreciated.  9.5" high, they are heavy cased, flattened slightly on two sides near the top, have thick rounded rims and flat polished bases with age related wear.  I thought they might be Whitefriars at first, but they don't match anything in their catalogues.  I think they might be Scandinavian or Italian ???  They''re very nice, but heavy!
TIA :)

Your pics are unfortunately too small to see any details...
I would suggest Czech, Milan Metelak for Harrachov glassworks :)

Many thanks for the suggestion - I'll look into it further.
Apologies for the image sizes.  I haven't quite got the hang of resizing yet ::)
I'll have another go tomorrow.
