Hi,
I think it is antique, diameter 5,5 cm, It has a polished concave base with external worn ring.
Could anyone help me with this weight id.
Best regards, thanks.
Marc.

Hi. The slightly grey glass, size, and canes set relatively high in the dome are consistent with St Mandé / Grenelle. That said, the canes remind me of some in a group of paperweights of unknown French or Belgian origin that are the subject of two articles in the forthcoming PCA Bulletin (one by Paul Dunlop, one by me and Andreas Stammwitz). So I would suggest antique northern European, but not one of the big 3 makers.

Hi Alan,
Would you mean to the group of 'starfish cane' paperweights of unknown maker?
Thanks for your reply,
Marc.

Hi Marc. Yes - but the starfish canes seem to overlap with the much neater doorknobs. Whether it was the same factory, or canes that moved is uncertain.
