Title: ID required for unusual Murano wine/water set
Post by: kings on February 19, 2016, 09:26:31 PM
Hi,

I'm relatively new here and I hope somebody can help me to identify an unusual fish-shaped Murano set, first half of the 20th century. I would like to know who made it and I thought Fratelli Toso might have. But others don't share this point of view. It's hard to find anything on this piece..The set consists of 6 glasses and one jug.
thanks!

The pic is a bit fuzzy, but it does look quite like some glasses/tumblers my next-door-neighbours brought back from Murano recently (as in, during the last 5 years or so. At my age, time passes very rapidly.)
I don't know the maker, I don't know if they know the maker.
I did give them plenty of advice on what to look out for, and what to avoid, they're artists and have quite good taste. I don't know how much of what I said went in one ear and out the other.
I might have to pop next door and ask them if they have any ideas, (unlikely  ::) if nothing comes up here.

whoops,  :-[ edited to add; Welcome to the board! :)

Hi,

Thanks for your reaction. I would appreciate any information on this set. I added an extra photograph (Ihope..)
Hope to hear from you again,

Jacqueline

Do you have the "flower button" on your camera, for taking close-up pics?

The ones you have posted (and thanks for posting them directly to the board - that is really helpful :) ) don't enlarge very much, and I cannot make out any detail. :'(

There is a load of information and technical help about resizing and posting images, here;

Cropping extra background off the original image can help too. :)
