Title: Caithness Millefiori Flower paperweight- Year and pattern help ?
Post by: Novasonic on March 26, 2016, 06:19:29 PM
Hi,

I have recently bought this Caithness Millefiori Flower paperweight, it is Marked CIIG on the base for a second - but I can't find which year, the name or the designer anywhere on line for this one - I have been through the ScotlandGlass.com pages extensively.  Would anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks

Rob

This is the Christmas Rose, the December weight of the Floral Year edition 1995 - which doesn't show up in any publication (known to me): designed by Margot Thomson, lampwork by Allan Scott or Rosette Fleming. In your example the flower looks a bit crushed, likely the reason for the marking as second.

In 2000 the range was re-designed: same flowers, but 3D - and this one is shown in sales brochures and the Charlton catalogue ... and on ScotlandsGlass. Images of the 1995 edition are in the queue.

Even a crushed flower, from either Allan or Rosette, is well worth having. :-)
